Princess Beatrice
Embarrassing faux pas when meeting Queen Silvia
Princess Beatrice probably forgot the royal etiquette for a short time: together with her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, she traveled to the “World Dyslexia Assembly” in Stockholm and met Princess Sofia, Prince Carl Philip and Queen Silvia there. It happened to the Queen’s granddaughter, of all people, that an unpleasant faux pas happened.
For several years, Prince Carl Philip, 42, and Princess Sofia, 37, have been campaigning for more acceptance of dyslexia with their “Prinsparet Stiftelse” foundation. On April 27, 2022, the “World Dyslexia Assembly” took place in Stockholm for the first time, to which representatives from culture, industry and business were invited.
Prince Carl Philip and Princess Beatrice have a common heart project
It was not a big surprise that Princess Beatrice, 33, and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, 38, would travel to Sweden for this special event. After all, Princess Beatrice, like Prince Carl Philip, publicly admits to being dyslexic.

Of course, Queen Silvia, 78, did not miss a meeting with the high-ranking visitor from England. So there was a meeting before the conference, where posing was also done for the media representatives. Particularly striking: While the gentlemen in the group smiled relatively relaxed and upright at the cameras, the queen and the two princesses looked rather uncertain with their hands folded in front of their bodies.
Princess Beatrice disregards royal etiquette
Perhaps it was precisely this insecurity that led to an uncomfortable faux pas on the part of the Brit a moment later. As the royals took their seats in the audience, Beatrice initially rushed ahead. Then, realizing that she was destined for the seat to the left of the queen, she hastily backed away and sat down. A gross blunder, as she should know as a granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth, 96.
And Queen Silvia also looked at the princess irritated at first before she sat down herself. Only then did the rest of the spectators take their seats. They seem to have mastered royal etiquette.
