The emotional meaning behind her tiara

A special moment for Princess Beatrice: At the wedding of Rajwa Al Saif and Prince Hussein of Jordan, she wears a tiara in public for the second time – and thus honors a very specific person.

Princess Beatrice, 34, made a wow appearance twice at the wedding of Rajwa Al Saif, 29, and Prince Hussein, 28, posing fashionably both at the ceremony during the day and at the state banquet in the evening. One detail should have made the wife of Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, 39, particularly proud: her tiara.

Princess Beatrice: In the evening she shows herself with the “York Tiara”

In contrast to comparably large events this year, the noble headdress is very welcome at the celebrations of Prince Hussein and Rajwa. For Beatrice there have only been a few occasions where she could have shown herself with a tiara. All the better that Princess Eugenie’s sister, 33, chose a very special piece of jewelery for the Jordanian wedding.

Beatrice combines the “York Tiara” with a cream-colored silk robe by Reem Acra with eye-catching embroidery on the décolleté. The diamond-encrusted headdress was purchased by Queen Elizabeth, †96, for her mother Sarah Ferguson, 63, and was first presented to the public at Fergie’s wedding to Prince Andrew, 63, in 1986. The Duchess of York has rarely worn the accessory at evening events since – and now, 20 years later, it adorns the head of her eldest daughter Beatrice for the first time.

Sarah Ferguson: Humorous words about her daughter’s tiara appearance

Beatrice’s mother, Sarah Ferguson, also comments on her daughter’s tiara appearance. The piece of jewelry, which she describes as a “beautiful gift”, apparently caused great astonishment. Sarah says, according to Hello!, that newspapers reported it, and people were surprised she didn’t “pick it up and sell it.” As Beatrice proves in Jordan, there is no truth in these allegations – for this reason, as Sarah adds:

It’s really valuable to me.

Sarah shares another humorous anecdote as she recounts a mishap that almost happened during the preparations for the wedding reception: the hairdresser accidentally placed the tiara on the front of Princess Beatrice’s head, but she corrected it. “I think the hairdresser studied Disney princesses,” joked the Duchess of York.

Princess Beatrice wears a tulle princess dress

During the day, Princess Beatrice chooses a romantic, floor-length tulle dress with flounce details on the hem, countless sequins and a black waist belt from the British label Needle & Thread. The dress in a delicate light blue tone also impresses with semi-transparent sleeves and a flowing A-line. The mother of a daughter chooses light blue pumps from Ralph & Russo and a clutch from the label Sophia Webster with the inscription: “Wifey for Lifey”.
