Princess Beatrice: wedding dress and tiara are from Queen Elizabeth

Princess Beatrice married in a dress that the Queen has already worn for a premiere. And how do you know the tiara?

Princess Beatrice (31) wore a truly historic wedding dress at her wedding with Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi (37). According to the royal family's official Instagram post, the British Royal was wrapped in a "vintage dress by Norman Hartnell". She also wore a "Queen Mary's diamond tiara". Both are from Beatrice's grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. (94). But that's not all.

The dress

On a well-informed fan page of Princess Beatrice there is also further interesting information about the recycled bridal outfit. Accordingly, the original cream-colored taffeta dress with diamond-trimmed bodice was designed in 1962 by fashion designer Sir Norman Hartnell (1901-1979) for the queen. She wore it at the film premiere of "Lawrence of Arabia" at the Odeon Leicester Square in London.

Angela Kelly (52), the Queen's personal stylist, and Stewart Parvin (born 1966), her favorite tailor, have adapted the dress to Beatrice's size and changed some details according to the bride's wishes. For example, short tulle puff sleeves were added.

The tiara

And the tiara that the princess wore on her head when she said yes has a long history. Queen Elizabeth II also wore it on her head at her own wedding to Prince Philip (99) in 1947. It was once made for Queen Mary (1867-1953).

The wedding took place on Friday morning due to Corona in the closest family circle in the All Saints Chapel decorated with magnificent floral decorations on the grounds of the Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park in Berkshire.
