Princess Charlotte was the little star of the Christmas service on December 23. The audience praised her good upbringing and, at one point in particular, couldn’t get enough of the young royal.
On the evening of December 23, the Together at Christmas service hosted by Catherine, Princess of Wales, 40, was broadcast on British television. At the beginning of the month, the celebrations with singing and readings were already recorded. Also present was Kate’s daughter, Princess Charlotte, 7, who touched the hearts of the audience with her behavior.

The children of Prince William, 40, and Kate were particularly praised by the audience for their impeccable behavior: Charlotte sang along diligently with her brother, Prince George, 9, and visibly enjoyed the magical atmosphere of Westminster Abbey, decorated for Christmas. The little princess seemed to be particularly happy about one item on the program: an excerpt from Paddington Bear’s Christmas mail.
Charlotte reacted excitedly to the announcement that actor Hugh Bonneville would be reading a letter from the beloved children’s book character: she turned to her mother Kate, who was sitting next to her, and whispered something in her ear, her eyes bright. She couldn’t help but laugh broadly. Catherine, Princess of Wales, also shared her daughter’s anticipation. She probably kept this special item on the program secret beforehand in order to surprise her children with it on the day of the service.
Paddington Bear was a good friend of Queen Elizabeth
Kate dedicated the “Togehter at Christmas” service to the late Queen Elizabeth, † 96. In her speech she emphasized:
This Christmas will be the first without Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth. Christmas was dear to Her Majesty as a time that brings us together.
What Charlotte also knows: her great-grandmother and Paddington Bear were good friends! Six months ago, the monarch invited the children’s book character to tea and pastries – but the bear, who is known for it, had of course hidden a jam sandwich in his hat “for emergencies”. The special bond between the two was rekindled during the Christmas service, much to Princess Charlotte’s delight.
