Princess Diana and Duchess Kate: They have that in common when it comes to fashion

Princess Diana and Duchess Kate are considered royal style icons. This makes their quite similar fashion taste unique and timeless.

What Princess Diana (1961-1997) once wore became a trend. What Duchess Kate (38) wears today is sold out a short time later. The two Britons not only have a similar fashion taste, but also a style awareness that is second to none and inspires both royal fans and fashionistas around the world.

The wife of Prince William (38) benefits from the fact that the 80s are making a fashionable comeback this summer. From shoulder pads to puffed sleeves to starched collars, everything is reissued. It was only in early July that the Duchess of Cambridge was seen visiting the "Queen Elizabeth Hospital" in Kings Lynn in a dark blue silk dress with long sleeves from Beulah London. The obligatory white shirt collar from the 80s could not be missing. A narrow waist belt and the flower pattern with forget-me-nots made the look perfect.

Similar looks at the birth of the sons

Princess Diana had a similarly perfect look over 30 years earlier. In 1985 she visited the Vatican together with her then husband Prince Charles (71). In a pink silk dress with polka dots and a reserved smile, she stood on the steps of St. Peter's Basilica. Their outfits are similar on other occasions as well.

A few hours after Prince Louis (2) saw the light of day on April 23, 2018, Kate showed up in front of St. Mary's Hospital. In a bright red dress with a white lace collar and top styled, she came to the door at the side of the shining Prince William. Already on September 17, 1984, the photographers were able to enjoy a similar picture: The Princess of Wales chose a bright red ensemble with a white collar after the birth of Prince Harry (35).
