Princess Diana died in 1997. Now, in the course of a series of revelations, the events immediately after her death were illuminated again.

On August 31, 1997, Prince Harry (36) and Prince William (39) lost their mother Diana in a tragic and mysterious car accident. To this day, many questions about the fateful night of death in Paris still seem unanswered. On the occasion of Lady Di’s 60th birthday, which she would have celebrated on July 1, 2021, has the British “Daily Mail” started a series under the name “The last days of Princess Diana” (“The last days of Princess Diana”). Direct eyewitnesses from back then have their say – such as priest Yves-Marie Clochard-Bossuet and Diana’s driver Colin Tebbutt, who was not behind the wheel at the time. Both now remember what happened immediately after their death.

According to Tebbutt, the then French presidential couple Jacques and Bernadette Chirac paid their last respects to the dead. Then UK royal funeral directors showed up on site. Only then did Prince Charles (72) and Diana’s sisters Sarah McCorquodale (66) and Jane Fellowes (64) arrive. Together with another Anglican priest, the three of them and Clochard-Bossuet then prayed in Diana’s room for a quarter of an hour. “Nobody else was in the room with us.”

Then a joint photo of Prince Harry and Prince William, which was found in Diana’s handbook, was placed in her hands. Just like a rosary that Mother Teresa had given her. Then the coffin was taken away to be transferred to Diana’s British homeland. “Charles thanked me,” recalls Priest Clochard-Bossuet. “He was very, very moved. Yes, I saw tears.”
