Diana would have turned 60 on July 1st. Among other things, London commemorates the mother of William and Harry with a “blue plaque”.

As a reminder of the life and work of Princess Diana (1961-1997) there will be a “Blue Plaque” with her name in London. According to “bbc.com” the plaque could to be attached to the building in Earls Court where she lived for several years as Lady Diana Spencer before she married Prince Charles (72) in 1981. Diana lived in the apartment at 60 Coleherne Court with a few friends.

The plaque is to be attached on the occasion of her 60th birthday, according to “bbc.com”, citing “English Heritage”. The national monument protection organization organizes the award of the “Blue Plaque” for London. Anna Eavis of “English Heritage” explained that Diana’s social commitment and her persistent appeal as “inspiration and cultural icon for so many” were decisive factors. The plaques in London honor “outstanding personalities and the places where they lived and worked”.

William and Harry remember their mother with a statue

Princess Diana, who died in a car accident in 1997, is also honored with a statue. The memorial is to find its place in the gardens of Kensington Palace on July 1, 2021, as Diana’s sons Prince William (38) and Prince Harry (36) announced last year. Her mother would have celebrated her 60th birthday that day. The statue is intended to remind visitors to the palace of the life and legacy of Princess Diana, the statement said.
