Princess Eugenie, 31, announced earlier this year that she and her friend and business partner Julia de Boinville have launched a podcast. As part of their charity organization “The Anti-Slavery Collective”, the two women will educate about modern slave and sex trade. A topic that has accompanied Eugenie involuntarily and very personally in recent years: after all, her own father Prince Andrew, 62, was accused of being part of the machinery. A source told the Daily Mail that the podcast is a clear way for Eugenie to distance herself from the allegations surrounding her father. Apparently, this distance also rubs off on the relationship between father and daughter.
The palace insider explains that the princess should not have let her father know about her podcast plans. In fact, there are said to have been “zero” conversations between Eugenie and the disgraced royal on this particular issue. Even after Prince Andrew and plaintiff Virginia Roberts Giuffre, 38, settled out of court, Princess Eugenie waited four weeks before visiting her father for the first time. “There was unease about a rift between father and daughter and even between Princess Beatrice and Eugenie,” reveals the anonymous source. Princess Beatrice, 33, is said to be much closer to Prince Andrew than her sister. The insider denies that Eugenie and Andrew’s relationship could break up completely. The family alliance is too strong for that.
