With only 25 guests, Prince Christian had to celebrate his confirmation in 2021, which had been postponed several times. Things are looking better for his sister Princess Isabella. But will her family be able to attend at the end of April?

The countdown to her confirmation on April 30, 2022 is on: Princess Isabella, 14, attended the service in Copenhagen on Sunday, March 13, 2022, together with Queen Margrethe, 81. “Princess Isabella will be confirmed in a month and a half. As part of the preparations for the confirmation, the princess was among the churchgoers at the Garrison Church with her grandmother, the Queen,” confirmed the Danish court.

A tradition that Prince Christian, 16, was able to enjoy before his big day in May 2021, but unfortunately it didn’t turn out as desired. Because unlike his little sister, his prospects for a proper celebration were hopeless. The reason, as so often: Corona.

Princess Isabella hopes to see her relatives from England and Australia

Meanwhile, Isabella may be given the celebration one wishes for on such a crucial day. When the date for her confirmation was announced, it was said that the princess would only toast it “privately with family and friends” on April 30th. However, it could still be that the party will be a lot bigger than her brother’s last year.

While the teenager really only celebrated in the closest circle at the time due to the corona regulations, the 14-year-old can now hope for a reunion with a heart person: Grandpa John Donaldson, 80, could actually dare to travel to this event from England. A favor that he unfortunately could not do for his grandchild in 2021.

Will Princess Mary’s siblings arrive from Australia?

The cherry on the confirmation cake would then only be the visit of Princess Marys, 50, siblings who live in Australia. While Princess Isabella’s aunts Jane Alison Stephens, 56, and Patricia Anne Bailey, 53, live in Hobart, the capital of the island state of Tasmania, her uncle lives on Australia’s south-west coast in Perth. So a family reunion in Denmark would be a godsend for everyone involved. In Australia, too, the corona-related travel and return travel restrictions have now been relaxed.

“You are all in our hearts”

That the Danish royals are looking forward to a family reunion became more than clear last year when Prince Christian was asked about it at his first press meeting. It was very “annoying” that the family, who lives abroad, could not come, he admitted at the time. “But that’s the way it is. They are all in our hearts and we think of them.”
