Princess Kate has announced that she has finished her chemotherapy. Charles and Camilla speak of “wonderful news”.
Princess Kate (42) posted on Monday (9 September) on the official social media channels of Kensington Palace shared an intimate video showing her on holiday with her family in Norfolk. The wife of Prince William (42) wrote moving words and explained that she had completed her chemotherapy.
After the publication, numerous congratulations and positive reactions were collected among the emotional posts at X and InstagramWithin the first five hours, the Instagram post received around 1.5 million heart reactions. “That brought tears to my eyes,” said one user, moved. “Live life to the fullest, be happy and continue to spread joy and hope to everyone around you.” Other comments read: “The epitome of class and inspiration, this is great news” and “This is an impressive video about an extraordinary woman and her family.” It was a great honor for him “to be involved – thank you for trusting me to make this film with you,” commented London filmmaker Will Warr, who created the video for the royals.
Royal support on the road to recovery
King Charles (75), who himself suffers from cancer, and his wife Queen Camilla (77) have already reacted indirectly to the video and the good news. A palace source told the Daily Mirror: “Both The King and Queen consider the details in the Princess of Wales’ announcement to be wonderful news and will continue to send the Princess all their love, thoughts and support as she continues her journey to a full recovery.”
“I can’t tell you how relieved I am to have finally finished my chemotherapy,” Kate explains in her social media post. “The past nine months” have been “incredibly hard” for Kate’s family and herself. She describes her cancer as “complex, frightening and unpredictable for everyone involved.”
In the future, the Princess of Wales wants to concentrate on “doing everything I can to stay cancer-free”. Despite the end of chemotherapy, her “road to healing and full recovery is long and I have to take each day as it comes”. In the coming months, Kate wants to “make a few more public appearances” if she is able to. This means she is returning to light royal duties.
