For royal fans, the royal family’s balcony appearance is a highlight every year: Kate did not miss it this time either.

It is the highlight of the annual military parade “Trooping the Colour”: the balcony appearance of the British royals while the Royal Air Force planes fly over Buckingham Palace. Princess Kate (42) did not miss this opportunity this time either, having appeared in public for the first time just a few hours earlier after a break of several months due to her cancer treatment.

At exactly 2 p.m. the rain clouds disappeared and the sun and blue sky made way for the Royal family as they came onto the palace balcony decorated for the military parade. King Charles III (75) and son Prince William (41) appeared in their traditional red uniforms of the Irish Guards, while their wives Kate and Camilla were dressed in elegant and classic royal costumes in black, white and mint green.

George, Charlotte and Louis wave to the visitors

Thousands of spectators cheered the Royal Family, who smiled at their fans and waved enthusiastically. As they do every year, Kate and William took their three children Prince George (10), Princess Charlotte (9) and Prince Louis (6) with them onto the balcony. The two boys were dressed in navy blue suits with gold buttons, white shirts and a light blue tie underneath. Daughter Charlotte appeared in a dark blue navy dress with a white bow tie.

On the other side of the royal couple Charles and Camilla were Charles’ brother Prince Edward (60), his wife Sophie of Wessex (59) and their daughter Lady Louise Windsor (20). Edward also donned the red military uniform, while Sophie beamed in a pastel yellow suit. Daughter Louise was also a stylish eye-catcher in a white blouse dress with floral prints. And Princess Anne (73), Charles’ sister, was also present on the balcony in military uniform.

Balcony appearance without Andrew, Harry and Meghan

Those missing, however, were Charles’ brother Prince Andrew (64), as well as Prince Harry (39) and Duchess Meghan (42). However, since the three are not currently active royal members, their appearance on the balcony was not to be expected anyway. In addition, Harry and Meghan, who live in Montecito, California with their two children Archie (5) and Lilibet (3), have not received an invitation to “Trooping the Colour” for the second year in a row.
