Princess Leonor has been attending the renowned UWC Atlantic College in Wales since 2021 to do her international high school diploma there. Now, after a break of several months, she is returning to Spain for two exciting days of honor.

Princess Leonor, 16, has not been in her native Spain for exactly two months. But in a few days, with the start of the autumn break at her UWC Atlantic College in Wales, the future heir to the Spanish throne will return – and an exciting and busy schedule awaits her.

Princess Leonor takes two days of honor

UWC Atlantic College’s October Break, where Leonor will complete her international high school diploma, begins on October 28, 2022. Because of her royal obligations, the princess will probably arrive a day earlier. It is still unclear whether she will first fly to Madrid or straight from Heathrow to the Principality of Asturias. The royal teenager will spend her first days at home with her parents King Felipe, 54, and Queen Letizia, 50, and her sister Princess Sofia, 15, in Asturias, her mother’s homeland.

There, Princess Leonor will present the 2022 Princess of Asturias Awards on October 28 at the Campoamor Theater in Oviedo. The next day, like the years before, the family will visit Cadavedo, the model village of Asturias, where everyone is really looking forward to it. The Spanish newspaper “El Español” suspects that Leonor’s official agenda will probably be limited to the traditional Asturias tour.

After the work is done, the young heir to the throne can devote herself to the beautiful things in private life. Leonor celebrates her 17th birthday on October 31st. This begins the last year before she comes of age and before even more royal responsibility.

This is how Leonor’s birthday should go

According to “HOLA!” the then 17-year-old should celebrate her day of honor in the presence of her family. Since this day also happens to be a public holiday in the Spanish schools, it could be a good opportunity for Leonor to meet up with her friends afterwards. She usually does that at Zarzuela Palace. However, the royal family does not reveal the birthdays of the princesses, as they are considered a private matter.

Just two days later, on November 2nd, there is another private celebration: The grandmother of the princess on her father’s side, Queen Sofia, will be celebrating her 84th birthday. She will probably toast her new year with her grandchildren.

The Spaniards last saw Leonor in public in Mallorca on August 10, as she strolled through the center of Palma de Mallorca with her parents and sister. Before Leonor returns to Wales for the serious side of life and her second and final year of school, she will enjoy a two-week holiday with her family in an undisclosed location. What beautiful prospects!
