An elite school in Wales calls: Princess Leonor will at least temporarily leave Madrid and go to school in Great Britain.

Adiós España, warm welcome to Great Britain! Princess Leonor (15), daughter of the Spanish royal couple Felipe (53) and Letizia (48), will fledge this summer and move from Madrid to Wales. As the royal family announced, she will continue her school career there in the village of Llantwit Major at the United World College (UWC) of the Atlantic. The aim is to successfully complete a globally recognized Abitur – the so-called International Baccalaureate – after two years.

The UWC institutions are considered to be absolute elite schools across national borders that are only open to a few young people. The Court's communication therefore expressly states that non-financial aspects led to Princess Leonor being accepted. On the contrary: You went through the entire, partly anonymous selection process. So far, it is planned that she will go to school in Wales from the end of August, at the latest from the beginning of September.

The princess will live there, like most of the students, teachers and employees, at an attached boarding school, which is located directly on the campus of the renowned educational institution. The total training costs for the planned two years of teaching amount to a whopping 76,000 euros. This will be paid for from the royal couple's private purse, the message continues.
