Around eleven years ago, not only Chris O’Neill married into the Swedish royal family, Princess Madeleine also had to integrate into her new relatives. How she feels about Chris’ half-sister Natascha is obvious.
As we know, with a wedding you always get a whole family for free. On June 8, 2013, Princess Madeleine, 42, tied the knot with businessman Chris O’Neill, 50. He thus became part of the Swedish royal family, and the royal family in turn became part of an American-Austrian business family. This also includes Natascha von Abensperg and Traun, with whom Madeleine apparently has a good relationship.
Princess Madeleine gushed about Chris O’Neill’s family
It is said that Chris is very close to his family. He has five siblings – Tatjana, Natascha, Stefanie, Annalisa and Karen – who come from two different mothers and three different fathers. “I really appreciate Chris’ family. They were always very nice to me and welcomed me with open arms. Chris has a wonderful family,” said Madeleine about her future husband’s relatives in 2012 as part of their engagement.
Natascha von Abensperg Traun and Tatjana d’Abo, who both have the same mother as Chris, are more in the spotlight than the three other sisters. Natascha loves art and design and makes lamps herself from threads. Her artwork has a big fan: Princess Madeleine.

Praise for Natasha’s designs
With her private Instagram account “leni82”, the Swedish royal regularly leaves likes and comments on her sister-in-law’s posts. “I love them,” she wrote, followed by several exclamation marks, for example, under a photo of lampshades made of threads in shades of cream and brown. Madeleine also praises Chris’ sister’s work in another picture.
The 42-year-old loves beautiful interiors and relies on exclusive furnishings in her own four walls that have been thought through down to the smallest detail. The two women can certainly discuss this well.
Even in her adopted home of Florida, Natascha apparently visited her brother, sister-in-law and their three children before the family moved back to Sweden this summer. On February 6, 2022, Natascha shared a photo of a beautifully decorated courtyard with palm trees, orchids and a fountain and linked the location Palm Beach. “How many days until I see this again?” she wrote. Madeleine responded with a counter question: “When are you coming?!?”
