Princess Madeleine can rely on Greta Thunberg to fulfill her desire to have children

It has been her heart’s project for 20 years: Princess Madeleine, 40, has long been the patron of the “Min stora dag” initiative founded by Claire Rosvall in Stockholm (in English: “My big day”). The organization pursues the goal of granting wishes to seriously and terminally ill children and thereby giving them an unforgettable day. Now another prominent Swede has agreed to become the mouthpiece for the wonderful project: On September 21, 2022, “Min stora dag” announced on social media a collaboration with Greta Thunberg, 19.

As the organization writes on Instagram, the climate activist has been involved in the work of “Min stora dag” for a long time. Now she is taking the next step with her participation as an official ambassador. Greta herself has been diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome, a form of autism, the post says, and she wants to help others with her openness. The organization is extremely happy about the sixth ambassador who can now help to bring vital joy to children in need.

Madeleine should welcome the newcomer with open arms. For the daughter of King Carl Gustaf, 76, and Queen Silvia, 78, even after moving to the USA, there is a great need to be present at events and desired encounters as often as possible. It was not until June 16, 2022, just two days after the farm announced her arrival in Sweden, that she made an appointment for “Min stora dag”. Madeleine and Princess Estelle’s 10-year-old pony Viktor waited for eight children at the Royal Stables in Stockholm to give them an unforgettable day.

King Willem-Alexander: Prime Minister protects him

Not an easy time for King Willem-Alexander, 55. Instead of being able to enjoy the annual Prinsjesdag, in which Princess Amalia, 18, also took part for the first time, he was met with a wave of hatred. Numerous demonstrators in The Hague overshadowed the day of the opening of Parliament. Actually, it should be a day when royal fans wave and cheer at the royal family during the carriage ride or on the castle balcony, instead they mainly received boos and whistles on September 20th. Upside down Dutch flags sent a sign of support for the problems facing agriculture. A sad circumstance that also made the smile of the 18-year-old king’s daughter disappear on her debut. No wonder, since her father was even insulted as a “traitor to the country”.

Prime Minister Mark Rutte has now responded to these allegations. He understands that people want to express their anger, but finds such a statement “ridiculous”, “nonsensical” and “unacceptable”. He would not tolerate “calling the king a traitor,” he clarified, but admitted: “I take people who protest in a decent way very seriously, and I understand that.”

However, the anger of the people does not seem to be aimed directly at the king. According to “NOS”, Jacquelien van Stekelenburg believes that people “see him more as a representative of the politicians they are so angry at”. Pieter Verhoeven agrees, telling Vorsten: “On Prinsjedag, the king is the symbol of government. It’s understandable that the dissatisfaction is directed against him today.”

Queen Margrethe tested positive for Corona

Concern in the Danish royal family! Just two days after Queen Elizabeth’s big state funeral, † 96, Queen Margrethe, 82, was diagnosed with a corona infection. “Her Majesty the Queen tested positive for COVID-19 last night and is now residing at Fredensborg Palace. The Queen’s activities this week have therefore been cancelled,” the palace said in an official statement on Instagram.

There were many opportunities for infection. The monarch has completed a real appointment marathon in the past week. First, she celebrated her 50th anniversary of the throne, although in slimmed down form because of the death of the British Queen. Nevertheless, she met many people during a gala performance at the Royal Theater, a church service and a lunch reception. On September 19, she attended the funeral of the late British counterpart with other European royals and heads of state – around 2,000 guests were present at Westminster Abbey.

Now, however, she is being forced to slow down and be honored from afar, as the court’s addendum suggests: “The Friday night party at Christiansborg Palace for the Danish members of the Government, the Folketing and the European Parliament will be with His Royal Highness hosted by the Crown Prince and Her Royal Highness the Crown Princess.”

Queen Letizia declined invitation to Windsor service

Numerous royals from all over the world attended the state funeral for Queen Elizabeth, † 96, on Monday, September 19, 2022. King Felipe, 54, Queen Letizia, 50, and former King Juan Carlos, 84, and Sofia of Spain, 83, also attended the ceremony at Westminster Abbey. However, only King Felipe appeared with his mother Sofia for the subsequent service in St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. Queen Letizia, however, had declined the invitation. The palace now explains why.

“After the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, His Majesty King Charles III invited the royal houses to a service before Queen Elizabeth’s funeral at Windsor Castle,” the Spanish news site “Vanitatis” quoted a statement from the court as saying. “Her Majesties the King and Queen accepted the invitation, as did Queen Sofia. As it was impossible to leave Windsor Castle before the end of this stay, the Queen was unable to attend the event in order to schedule her scheduled flight to New York in time reach.”

The 50-year-old is expected there on Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. local time for an official appointment at the 77th General Assembly of the United Nations. It is considered one of the most important events of the year in Letizia’s calendar.

Princess Charlène and Prince Albert demonstrate unity

It is an unusual picture that Princess Charlène, 44, and Prince Albert, 64, gave at the great state funeral for Queen Elizabeth, †96, on Monday in London: the couple showed themselves arm in arm, faces of sadness and compassion drawn. This form of intimacy has rarely been seen in the two of them in the past year. In recent months, poor health had overshadowed the luck of the Monegasque. For this reason, the Princess had to stay in South Africa for months in 2021, where she contracted an ENT infection during a nature conservation mission. After returning to European soil, she quickly went underground for several weeks to continue to recover. Separation rumors spread.

Charlène is now back with her family, Albert and their twins Jacques and Gabriella, 7. In the meantime, she is also taking official appointments again. In public, the royal couple has often been rather distant in the past. Now, however, one sees clear expressions of affection again and again, such as a heartfelt kiss on her trip abroad to Norway in June. The couple also suggested closeness again at the Queen’s funeral. Images that, despite the sad occasion in Monaco, will bring goodwill and joy.

Queen Letizia, King Felipe and Juan Carlos at the funeral service

On the morning of September 19, heads of state and royals from around the world said goodbye to Queen Elizabeth, †96, in London’s Westminster Abbey. King Felipe, 54, and his wife, Queen Letizia, 50, and Sofia, 83, also arrived the day before to attend a reception given by King Charles, 73, at Buckingham Palace. Former King Juan Carlos, 84, came all the way from the United Emirates, where he is currently living in exile.

The Spanish royal couple were dressed in mourning and with serious expressions on Sunday, September 18, as they bid the Queen farewell at Westminster Hall, where the coffin lay in state until Monday morning. The subsequent reception by King Charles and Queen Camilla, 75, attracted particular interest from the Spanish media, after all it was Juan Carlos’ first joint appearance with his son and daughter-in-law since the old king went into exile in Abu two years ago had said goodbye to Dhabi. But hopes for joint photos were in vain, the press was excluded from the event. King Felipe and his Letizia also entered Westminster Abbey separately from Juan Carlos. During the service, however, the three sat together.
