Princess Madeleine: work despite visiting home

A few days ago (June 14, 2021) the time had come: Princess Madeleine, 39, arrived in Sweden with her family. At last! After more than a year and a half, the Florida-based princess finally meets her family again. “The princess is happy to be at home, since it was over a year and a half ago,” announced court information chief Margareta Thorgren.

But in addition to all kinds of family get-togethers, Madeleine also has to do one or the other duty. Like yesterday: The 39-year-old met in a video conference with the governor of Gävleborg, Per Bill, and the district councilor Veronica Lauritzsen to be informed about what happened in the Hälsingland and Gästrikland regions during the pandemic. “The princess received general information and an overview of how the children in the district are affected by the pandemic,” says the Swedish royal family’s official Instagram account. “During the meeting, Princess Madeleine also expressed the hope that she could visit Hälsingland and Gästrikland again in the near future.” The two places are particularly close to Princess Madeleine’s heart: after all, she is the Duchess of Hälsingland and Gästrikland.

Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden celebrate steel wedding

Last Saturday (June 19, 2021) Princess Victoria, 43, and Prince Daniel, 47, celebrated their eleventh wedding anniversary. Instead of spending it with their children Estelle, 9, and Oscar, 5, the Royals allowed themselves an evening break. The two of them visited the Italian luxury eatery “Spesso” in Stockholm and enjoyed the evening. This is reported by the Swedish magazine “Svensk Damtidning”.

On June 19, 2010, Princess Victoria married her fiancé Daniel Westling in the Stockholm Cathedral “Storkyrkan”. This date was a special day for the Swedes even before the wedding and was chosen carefully by the couple: Victoria’s parents, Queen Silvia, 77, and King Carl Gustaf, 75, also married on June 19 – albeit in 1976. The eleventh wedding anniversary is also known as the steel wedding, while Silvia and Carl Gustav celebrated their brass wedding this weekend after 45 years of marriage.
