Princess Mary: Court confirmed! She flew to Australia

Princess Mary is not having an easy time in Denmark. The palace has now confirmed that the native Australian has flown back to her homeland with her twins – and for the time being without Prince Frederik.

Although Princess Mary, 51, has lived in Denmark alongside Prince Frederik, 55, for years, the homesickness for Australia, where the princess was born, will probably never completely subside. Especially in the contemplative period before Christmas, the mother of four seems to be drawn to her roots: As the Danish palace has confirmed, Mary flew to Australia without Frederik. At her side: the twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, both 12.

Princess Mary: That’s why she’s in Australia without Prince Frederik

Since the beginning of November 2023, it has been Prince Frederik, of all people, who has been drawing attention to himself with negative headlines almost every day. After his alleged affair with actress Genoveva Casanova, he now has to put up with increasing criticism of his less than environmentally friendly travel style – while he is in Dubai takes part in the world climate conference COP28. In the midst of this media hustle and bustle, his wife Mary has now decided to travel to Australia.

As the Danish website “Billet Bladet” reported on December 5th, this time had been planned for a long time. The palace confirmed that the Crown Princess flew to her homeland accompanied by her two youngest children. But one also emphasizes: Prince Frederik and her daughter Princess Isabella, 16, will travel later. “Due to official obligations and the princess’s schooling,” Frederik and Isabella fly in later Princess Mary’s Family in Australia.

One will miss the trip to Australia completely

Prince Frederik will remain in Dubai until December 6th. After that, the heir to the throne has duties as a representative for his mother Queen Margrethe, 83, in Denmark. In the royal family’s official calendar, Prince Frederik is listed as regent until December 10th. It is not yet known when exactly he and Princess Isabella will follow Princess Mary and the twins to Australia.

However, Mary and Frederik have to do without one family member in Australia: their eldest son, Prince Christian, of all people, will not be able to travel with them. The 18-year-old has obligations as a high school student, according to “Billet Bladet”. Commitments also come first for a future King of Denmark – so that he can be there again on the next trip to Australia.
