Princess Mette-Marit: Another appointment cancellation! Has she taken it upon herself?
It’s been more than a month since Princess Mette-Marit, 49, had to abruptly cancel an appointment due to health problems. An incident that caused worried headlines. The wife of Prince Haakon, 49, apparently does not want to risk a similar scenario again. A performance planned for today, November 2nd, was canceled this morning. It was about the so-called “future meeting” in the Oslo district of Bjørvika. Young people are invited to participate in the joint projects of the foundation of the heir to the throne. Unfortunately, this time the meeting took place without Mette-Marit. Her name, and thus her attendance, was quietly removed from the official calendar just hours beforehand.
Her program finally filled up again after the court reported on August 20, 2022 that the royal, who was suffering from chronic pulmonary fibrosis, was also suffering from COVID-19. Only after a recovery period of almost two weeks, on August 31, 2022, was Mette-Marit finally seen again at a public appointment as part of a literary discussion. Almost a month later, the shock: The princess was just able to congratulate the women’s center of the Norwegian Red Cross on its 10th anniversary with a homemade cake and talk to some employees before she had to leave the facility. The reason given was that she suddenly experienced severe side effects from the medications that the treating hospital had prescribed for her. It is not yet known whether the cancellation of the current date could also be attributed to this cause.
Princess Sofia reveals her sons don’t see themselves as princes
As part of their trip to their Duchy of Värmland, Prince Carl Philip, 43, and Princess Sofia, 37, also paid a visit to the Grums Municipal Library a few days ago. As “Svensk Damtidning” reports, the royal couple got into conversation with children and young people at the appointment and also revealed an exciting detail about their own three sons.
When it came to the topic of reading aloud, Princess Sofia revealed that Prince Alexander, 6, Prince Gabriel, 5, and Prince Julian, 1, are just as fascinated by royal fairy tale characters as other young children. “They don’t really see themselves as princes,” Princess Sofia said of her three sons. “For them it’s the same fantastic fairy tales as for all other children.”

Princess Mette-Marit is looking forward to the program again after a long absence

Joint family shooting planned for reunion
Traditionally, the Dutch royal family has their picture taken twice a year as part of a family shoot. Due to the different academic paths of the daughters, joint photo sessions have become rarer, but now there seems to be a meeting again.

Princess Ariane, 15, still goes to school in The Hague, Princess Alexia, 17, attends UWC Atlantic College in Wales and Crown Princess Amalia, 18, is an enrolled student and is staying with her parents at Schloss Huis for security reasons and protection from the mafia ten Bosch – it’s pretty difficult to meet all the daughters in the same place at the same time. Princess Amalia in the sights of the mafia: the suspect comments on the allegations
A normal life has not been possible for her for weeks: Princess Amalia, 18, allegedly had to put her long-awaited student life in Amsterdam on hold because her life was threatened. For weeks, the daughter of Willem-Alexander, 55, and Queen Máxima, 51, has been guarded by a large number of security personnel at the Huis ten Bosch Royal Palace in The Hague, because criminal gangs apparently threaten to kidnap her and are even trying to kill her. “It has huge consequences for her life. It means, of course, that she doesn’t live in Amsterdam. And that she can’t really go outside. The consequences are very hard for her. So for her it’s not student life like other students” , her mother explained at a press conference in Sweden.
Amalia is said to have been targeted by the Dutch mafia. “An attempted kidnapping or an attack will be considered,” said the newspaper De Telegraaf at the end of September 2022. Accordingly, members of the so-called “Mocro Maffia”, which is mainly active in the Netherlands and Belgium, are under suspicion. However, their leader Ridouan T. has now reported from the maximum security prison in Vught, where he is serving a sentence and denies the allegations. In a written testimony on Friday, October 28, 2022, he asserted that he had nothing to do with the threats against Amalia. The mafia boss was heard in the trial of his cousin Youssef, who is said to have tried to free him from prison. “I’m portrayed as some kind of monster,” he complained. Whether the authorities will believe him remains to be seen as mediation progresses. Amalia, meanwhile, must continue to tremble for life and limb.
