Slowly but surely, Catherine, Princess of Wales, is venturing back into the public eye after her abdominal surgery in January. Now their participation in an event has been announced for the first time. She is supposed to take part in rehearsals for “Trooping the Color”.

The time has finally come: after weeks of radio silence, Catherine’s first appointments are rolling in, Princess of Wales, 42, since her planned abdominal surgery in January. It’s still a few months away, but royal fans can look forward to attending a rehearsal for “Trooping the Color” in 2024. This was announced on the British Army website on Tuesday, March 5, 2024.

Catherine, Princess of Wales: Important task in “Trooping the Color”

The birthday parade of King Charles, 75, is one of the annual highlights in the United Kingdom and always takes place in mid-June. In January, Kensington Palace shocked with the news that Catherine, Princess of Wales, had undergone elective abdominal surgery and was unlikely to “be able to return to public life before Easter.” A few days later, another terrible news followed: Charles has cancer.

Slowly but surely things are looking up. Since then, not only the monarch has appeared laughing on the royal family’s official social media channels. On March 4th, the US celebrity portal “TMZ” also published the first photos of Kate since her procedure. They show Prince William’s wife, 41, sitting in the car next to her mother Carole Middleton, 69.

They can also look forward to the heartwarming laughter that the British love so much as they prepare for the “Trooping the Color” parade. Kate, as colonel in the Irish Guards, is due to inspect the troops during the rehearsal on June 8, the British Army website reports. This year the 1st Battalion Irish Guards will be responsible for escorting the flag. Additionally, King Charles is scheduled to lead the royal family in the parade on June 15.

No official palace confirmation – but “a case for cautious optimism”

However, the dates have not yet been officially confirmed by the palace. “Daily Mail” royal expert Rebecca English points out on “I would conclude that the event was already planned before the princess’s operation. So I would say this is a case for cautious optimism!”

Official comeback at the traditional Easter service?

It would be Kate’s first officially confirmed appointment after her operation. However, after the palace declared in January this year that she would probably not return to public before Easter, all hopes are still pinned on the holiday.

Perhaps Catherine will celebrate her royal comeback alongside her husband and their three children Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5, at the traditional Easter service in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. It would be a wonderful setting.
