Pre-Christmas family trip without Madeleine and her children

Princess Sofia and Princess Victoria enjoyed a special evening at the opera with the royal couple and their children over the weekend. Only Princess Madeleine and her children were missing.
The Swedish royal family is finally complete again! On Monday evening, December 18, 2023, ensured Queen Silvia, 79, had a real surprise when she did not appear alone at the traditional reception of the Christmas trees in the Royal Palace as announced, but rather had her eight grandchildren in tow.
Princess Madeleine traveled to Sweden with her family earlier than expected
Together with Princess Estelle, 11, Prince Oscar, 7, Prince Alexander, 7, Prince Gabriel, 6, Prince Julian, 2, Princess Leonore, 9, Prince Nicolas, 8, and Princess Adrienne, 5, the monarch decorated the stately fir trees and posed for sweet souvenir photos. Together with King Carl Gustaf, 77, and Queen Silvia Princess Victoria46, Princess Sofia39, and Prince Carl Philip, 44, visited the Royal Opera in Stockholm with her children – only Prince Julian, 2, was missing. Sofia and Carl Philip published photos of that trip on their own Instagram account on Wednesday evening, December 20th. “There was a wonderful Christmas atmosphere when we were able to enjoy the Nutcracker at the opera again this weekend. Thank you!” the couple wrote about four recordings of the special evening. It remains unclear whether Princess Madeleine and her family had recovered from their jet lag or were even still in the air at the time.
Despite the absence of Madeleine and her children, the fans of the Swedish royal family are enthusiastic about the new posting, and the users were particularly impressed by picture number four: Princess Estelle, Prince Oscar, Prince Alexander and Prince Gabriel grin and pose for a sweet photo of their offspring . “The cousin picture is simply wonderful,” says a royal fan – and promptly receives approval: “What a nice bunch of cousins.”
