Apparently, a Swedish royal event isn’t complete without King Carl Gustaf getting himself in trouble in one way or another. Or on his buttocks – as almost happened on Victoria Day this year …
Princess Victoria, 45, daughter Princess Estelle, 10, and Co. probably couldn’t stop laughing: On the big day of honor of the heir to the throne on July 14, 2022, King Carl Gustaf, 76, had a small mishap that only caused worried faces and then caused a lot of laughter.

The birthday celebrations in Crown Princess Victoria’s honor almost ended badly for the king, but fortunately only almost. Because when, according to the Swedish tabloid “Expressen”, the royal family entered the stage to thank the artists for their performance, Carl Gustaf suddenly lost his balance. The monarch is said to have fallen on stage, someone had to help him.

Not the first royal blunder
Only recently, Sweden’s king made several verbal mistakes in front of the camera. At celebrations to mark the 200th anniversary of the Göta Canal on July 9, he mistook his grandfather Gustav VI. with his great-grandfather Gustav V.
A month earlier, on the Swedish national holiday, he wished his compatriots “a nice Midsommar” – the Swedish midsummer festival was only on June 24th. Even the monarch is just a human being who makes mistakes from time to time.
