The birthday celebrations in Crown Princess Victoria’s honor almost ended badly for the king, but fortunately only almost. Because when, according to the Swedish tabloid “Expressen”, the royal family entered the stage to thank the artists for their performance, Carl Gustaf suddenly lost his balance. The monarch is said to have fallen on stage, someone had to help him.
Photos obtained by the newspaper show a stumbling king showing the audience his thumbs-up following the minor incident.
As the “Expressen” reporter reports, the audience, which first acknowledged the king’s fall with a murmur, applauded King Carl Gustaf after regaining his balance.
lucky! From the happy faces of the other members of the royal family, it can be concluded that it may have been just a minor stumble. Queen Silvia, 78, Prince Carl Philip, 43, Princess Sofia, 37, and Princess Madeleine, 40, also enjoyed themselves royally during Carl Gustaf’s small show in the background.

Not the first royal blunder
Only recently, Sweden’s king made several verbal mistakes in front of the camera. At celebrations to mark the 200th anniversary of the Göta Canal on July 9, he mistook his grandfather Gustav VI. with his great-grandfather Gustav V.
A month earlier, on the Swedish national holiday, he wished his compatriots “a nice Midsommar” – the Swedish midsummer festival was only on June 24th. Even the monarch is just a human being who makes mistakes from time to time.
