Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel are usually beaming and cheerful at official appearances with their children. But the cheerful family sometimes strikes a serious note at the kitchen table at home, as the heir to the throne now revealed on her visit to France.

Princess Victoria, 44, is currently a guest in Paris and on the fringes of her official duties is apparently in a relaxed chat mood. The Swedish heir to the throne even took time between her official appointments to answer a few questions about her visit abroad to her home broadcaster “Sveriges Radio”. She also revealed personal information from the dinner table at home.

Princess Victoria: Your children are worried about climate change

It’s no secret that Victoria’s children Princess Estelle, 9, and Prince Oscar, 5, are bright children. The siblings always inspire the Swedes with their friendly manner and affection. A gift that the two of them received on their way through the loving upbringing of their mother and father, Prince Daniel, 48.

But the young royals are not only interested in the sunny side of life, but are now also adopting more serious tones in close family circles. Apparently, climate change is already an issue for them that moves them. With Victoria, the two have a competent contact person in this regard. In Paris, the eldest daughter of King Carl Gustaf, 75, dealt with the question of a more climate-friendly economy in her speech in the “Pavillon Vendôme”.

A sympathetic ear for Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar

Victoria then told reporters that Estelle and Oscar are already very interested in the climate issue: “Even if my children are only five and nine years old, it is very clear to them that we are concerned about the environment and nature and resources, that we have to think about, “explained the 44-year-old. That is why the heir to the throne and her husband always have an open ear for their offspring’s questions: “I think it is important to have these conversations with your children because they hear parts of the news or in kindergarten or school. The conversations are important, because they worry about these questions. ”

It seems like it is only a matter of time before Estelle and Oscar take to the streets side by side with Sweden’s committed climate activist Greta Thunberg, 18, for ecological change. Mum and Dad are sure not to mind.
