In Sweden, the national holiday is celebrated on June 6th. Princess Victoria attended the first celebration in the morning and was in a very good mood with her seat neighbor.
On June 6, 2024, Sweden’s national holiday will be celebrated. As every year, the royal family is celebrating the memorable day with several festivities. Princess Victoria, 46, and Prince Daniel, 50, arrived in Nykvarn this morning, a small town in the historic province of Södermanland. There, the heir to the throne quickly seems to be making friends with Steinunn Ásgeirsdóttir.
Princess Victoria whispers happily with her seat neighbor
Shortly after her arrival, Princess Victoria is in a good mood with the municipal administrator Steinunn Ásgeirsdóttir, who welcomes her and Prince Daniel in bright sunshine. The Crown Princess couple then walks through the crowd with Ásgeirsdóttir, the royals shake many hands and chat with fans. Shortly afterwards, the two pose with the municipal administrator and her colleague Märtha Dahlberg in front of Folkets Park.

When the daughter of King Carl Gustaf, 78, takes a seat, Ásgeirsdóttir stays by her side. The two women are constantly talking, laughing and whispering together. There’s no doubt that the chemistry seems to be right.
Crown Princess gives moving speech on National Day
Later, Princess Victoria steps up to the podium and gives a moving speech. “Prince Daniel and I are so happy to celebrate with you. What a party!” begins the 46-year-old, according to “Svensk Damtidning”. After joyfully ringing in the summer, the royal takes a more serious tone.

“When we celebrate our national day today, we also celebrate all that we have achieved in terms of democracy and justice, peace and freedom. These are values that must always be protected and can never be taken for granted,” she says, adding: “We all have a part in shaping our society. We build on the Sweden created by previous generations and on the values that make our country so unique.”
