This Monday, February 27, 2023, the adventures of the inhabitants of Prisoner Island come to an end. Indeed, France 2 offers from 9:10 p.m. the two episodes which serve as a conclusion to the first original series created by Michel Bussi… But a question burns the lips of the millions of viewers who have followed the fiction: would a season 2 be possible? ?
A season 2 for “The Prisoner Island”?
In the columns of the Parisianthe novelist said that a sequel was not initially considered: “When we were writing, Christian Cleres [le coscénariste, ndlr] told me that we had to leave an opening for a season 2. I replied that I would move on…“
However, galvanized by his work and that of the whole team, Michel Bussi admitted that he was not totally against the idea of thinking about a second burst of episodes when he saw the final result.
The main interested party thus declared to our colleagues: “It’s true that I tell myself that they have to come back, we can’t leave them there. What will become of young Kelly? (…) We have to wait to see if the audience is there.”
However, since the success was there for L’Île prisonnière, France 2 and Michel Bussi will they review their initial plan?

With its gripping story, excellent cast and meticulous production, Prisoner Island is one of the good surprises of the start of 2023. As a reminder, it all starts here on the fictional island of Penhic, a hamlet on the water without incident until the day when twenty armed activists disembark to confine all the inhabitants to the village school.
Alpha, their leader, has planned everything, except that the shuttle that connects Penhic to the mainland escapes them and allows five of its passengers to hide on the island. Who are these activists? Why are they holding the inhabitants of Penhic prisoners? Who among them will become heroes, cowards or traitors? Who is the stranger on the shuttle who returns after ten years of absence?
In the casting, viewers discover in the main roles Pierre Perrier (who returned to this trying shoot), Lannick Gautry, Déborah François, Antoine Duléry, Margot Bancilhon, Kévin Azaïs, Anouk Grinberg, Marie Denarnaud, Jane Cara, Diego Murgia and Noé Chabbat (who plays Geoffroy, Chris’ deaf-mute child).
