Probably dozed off briefly – German (34) in hospital after car rolled over

Spectacular accident on Monday morning in Lermoos in Ausserfern, Tyrol! A 34-year-old German may have crashed into the guardrail because of a microsleep. His car then overturned and rolled over. He was seriously injured and taken to the clinic.

Shortly before 9 a.m., the German was driving his car on Ehrwalder Straße from Germany towards Lermoos. According to initial investigations, he probably dozed off there briefly and came to the edge of the road on the right. He drove over a guardrail. This caused the vehicle to tip onto its left side and then overturned. It only came to a standstill after around 100 meters. The driver was injured, the road was closed. Following road users started the rescue chain. After initial treatment, the 34-year-old was taken to the clinic in Garmisch-Partenkirchen with significant injuries. The road was closed to all traffic for around 20 minutes during the rescue work and the accident investigation.
