Process started around alleged Bitcoin inventor

The trial for the defamation lawsuit brought by self-proclaimed Bitcoin inventor Craig Wright started in Oslo on Monday. Australian computer scientist accuses influencer Magnus Granath, known on Twitter as Hodlnaut, of defamation and libel. In 2019, Hodlnaut accused the scientist of being a fraud and swindler in a series of tweets, after which the latter sued him.

The trial is now intended to clarify whether, among other things, Hodlnaut’s hashtag “#CraigWrightIsAFraud” is to be regarded as freedom of expression or whether it seriously damaged Wright’s reputation.

Craig Wright has garnered attention for his repeated claims of being the inventor of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto. Even if there was always solid evidence against it: Wright still insists on it today and repeatedly fights in court against people who publicly contradict him.
