A modular office to meet all profiles and all needs

“The future of gaming and home computing“. This is how Razer announces its gaming desktop concept which focuses on modularity, customization and technological power. Because the Sophia project is not just an office, it is an all-in-one concept that wants to adapt to all needs (office automation, gaming, streaming, music creation, video editing, etc.) by grouping together all the peripherals. and devices directly in the office for a simplified experience as much as possible.

For this, it is based on a desk, consisting of a base and an OLED screen (65 or 77 inches), capable of supporting up to 13 different modules. It can range from the secondary screen to the mixer, from the touch area for stylus to one for monitoring system settings, from editing tools to shortcuts for managing your favorite game, tablet, etc. And there is even a zone to keep your coffee warm! In a few seconds, it is possible to switch from one configuration to another to play and then work.

Because this office of the future is designed around a personalized printed circuit and “equipped with advanced components”. Razer promises that it will find the latest Intel processor or the latest Nvidia GPU, a THX surround sound system or a high refresh rate screen. All modules and components will be housed in a frame that attaches magnetically to the glass top of the desk. Easy access to all the elements to quickly change them if necessary.

Razer obliges, the Chroma key is not forgotten and the desk is covered with LEDs to synchronize with the colorful ecosystem of the brand. Project Sophia is therefore presented as an ambitious concept to satisfy the greatest number, but also the multiple uses on a daily basis. It remains to be seen when it will actually make its appearance. So far, he’s only introduced himself through videos and a visual concept. On paper, the idea is beautiful and commendable. The disproportionate size of the screen so close to the work area remains to be seen.
