Project: The Perceiver, an impressive open-world action game announced for PS4 and PS5

Chinese games announced with a technical demo, we are starting to have them in spades. Since Black Myth Wukong, we have the impression that these open-world action games are multiplying at high speed, symbolizing the desire of Chinese studios to establish themselves as the new rising stars of the genre. We discover today a new project, which calls itself Project: The Perceiver and which shows us all its ambitions with a long gameplay video that impresses.

Drop the masks

Behind Project: The Perceiverwe find Papergamesusually more accustomed to visual novels and mobile games. Ambition has visibly gone up a notch with this new game, placed in the hands of the team of 17ZHE, an internal studio at Papergames.

The game will take place in a fantasy-tinged open world, where masks seem to matter a lot by granting various abilities and multiple appearances.

With this first gameplay video, it’s impossible not to think, to some extent, of Ghost of Tsushima or even in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, as the duels seem to be at the heart of the gameplay, with great freedom of movement which allows you to run on walls and climb on buildings. The title also stands out for what seems to be quite spectacular platforming phases.

It’s obviously quite impressive technically speaking, with nice lighting effects that shouldn’t make us forget that this is above all a note of intent, and not the final product.

For now, Project: The Perceiver is only announced for PS4 and PS5, but it could be coming to more platforms. No date has been shared.
