The Game of Thrones universe, which has become a global phenomenon, the series Game Of Thrones, is not about to say goodbye to us! Despite the cancellation of the project around the character of Jon Snow, the success of House of the Dragon can only encourage new spin-offs. In fact, a new series is in preparation and it is gradually beginning to reveal itself in a promising way…

The new Game of Thrones spin-off is taking shape behind the scenes

The return to Westeros promises to be epic in the new Game of Thrones spin-off, titled A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge of Knight. Just like House of the Dragon, it will be a prequel set a century before the events of Game of Thrones.

The always well-informed Hollywood Reporter tells us some additional details about the production of the spin-off. Journalist James Hibberd reports that the first season will count 6 episodes. We are therefore on a smaller number compared to the 10 of the first two series of the franchise.

In addition, we now know the name of who will be in charge of directing the first three episodes. This is’Owen Harris, who will also wear the hat of executive producer. The man has particularly stood out in recent years for his contributions to the Netflix series Black Mirror, including the famous episode “San Junipero”. He also contributed to the reboot of The Fourth Dimension, as well as to Brave New World (NBC), the series adapted from the novel Brave New World.

Surprisingly, the HBO teams therefore opted for someone more accustomed to science fiction. Nevertheless, his work could match the tension and suspense expected of a work based on Game of Thrones. We will see if this choice was most relevant at the end of 2025, if all goes well. Besides, we should be able to watch the series via MaxHBO’s SVOD platform which is finally arriving in France.
