Mini-lesson in male anatomy: the prostate is a small gland which, in men only, is located under the bladder. There is therefore no prostate in women!
Crossed by the urethra canal (which carries urine), the prostate’s main role is to produce seminal fluid. When the sperm – produced by the testicles – are brought to the prostate (and in particular to the seminal vesicles, which are a part of it), they are mixed with this fluid which makes up 95% of sperm.
Beyond its importance for the production of sperm, the prostate is also the seat of the famous “P-spot”, the equivalent of the G-spot in men: this is responsible for the famous “prostatic orgasm”. Explanations from Céline Vendé, sexologist and couples therapist.
P-spot in men: what is prostate orgasm?
“The prostate is an internal male organ that can be stimulated in different ways: externally (by pressure with a finger) or internally (by massage with a finger, a penis or a sex toy adapted)” explains Céline Vendé.
“Stimulation of the prostate results in an orgasm which diffuses pleasure with greater intensity and more lasting over time than ejaculation, which consists of intense but sudden pleasure.” develops Céline Vendé. How to stimulate the prostate externally?
For men who would not necessarily be comfortable with anal penetration (with a penis, with a finger or even with a sex toy), the P-spot can first be stimulated externally.
“This involves exerting pressure with the thumb on the part of the body which is between the base of the testicles and the anus; However, you must press hard enough to stimulate the prostate gland” specifies the sexologist. This stimulation can be done solo (during a masturbation session, for example) or in a duo (to spice up a fellatio, for example).
Warning: small practical detail, if you want to stimulate your partner’s prostate externally, don’t forget to cut your nails fairly short (at the risk of scratching him!) and to wash your hands well before the act ( because the anal area is vulnerable to infections!).
How to do an internal prostate massage?
Please note: prostate stimulation is “often more intense when done internally” underlines the specialist. For this, we can use a finger, which must be inserted into the man’s anus. In practice, we will rather use the middle finger because the prostate is located approximately 7 cm from the entrance to the the anus; you must then direct the finger towards the stomach (towards the navel) and not towards the buttocks in order to touch a small, relatively soft “ball”.
Attention ! “In both men and women, intromission into the anus is not natural: this orifice is made to emit, not to receive!” explains Céline Vendé.
Before performing internal prostate stimulation, it is therefore recommended to practice a little: “to prepare the anus to receive penetration, the man can for example try to insert a finger there while he is taking a shower; first one phalanx, then two… You have to go really slowly and in stages.“Again, it’s best to have short nails!
Stimulate the prostate internally, with a sex toy
New warning, health level this one: “anal sphincters (these muscles found around the anus) are very powerful and can produce a suction effect – in short, a sex toy not suitable for anal use could end up being sucked into the rectum, with potentially serious consequences for health” explains Céline Vendé.
For anal practice (such as internal prostate massage), it is therefore essential to buy an appropriate sex toy: this is where the prostate stimulator comes into play.
