This happens when you put detergent in the wrong compartment

The washing machine’s detergent compartment is complex and has an important function.

Put the laundry in the drum, add detergent and off you go? Not quite, because choosing the right detergent dispenser is more important than many of us think. In the video we reveal what the chambers and the different symbols are all about.

The washing machine is one of the most used household appliances – and yet the details can sometimes confuse some of us. A common challenge is the detergent compartment, which usually has three compartments with different symbols. It’s important to know what these compartments are for in order to wash your clothes properly – because the wrong compartment can cause a rude awakening.

Each compartment has its own function for your washing machine

Although guessing about the subjects can be frustrating, it’s worth knowing what they mean. If you accidentally put fabric softener in the main or pre-wash compartment instead of the middle compartment, you will probably have to wash your laundry again. The reason: The fabric softener forms a soapy, greasy layer on the textiles, which effectively prevents dirt and stains from being removed from the fibers. It’s therefore good to get to know the compartments better – in the video we explain the functions of the detergent compartments in detail.
