Proton Mail launches its application for Windows, macOS and Linux


Proton, provider of secure and encrypted eponymous messaging, announces the launch of its desktop application for Windows, macOS and Linux. Accessible to users who have a paid subscription, this new software includes all the encryption functionalities of the Swiss company’s email solution.

Proton Mail becomes a desktop application for subscribers

Windows and macOS users can now check their emails from a dedicated application to install on these respective operating systems. THE aficionados of Linux are not left on the sidelines, however, since Proton announces the simultaneous launch of a version for the OS flocked to the logo of its famous mascot, the Tux penguin. This version for Linux is however offered at the beta stage for the moment. This new application follows the successful launch of Proton Drive and Proton Pass software.

If Proton Mail in desktop version is only available to users who have subscribed to a paid subscription with the company, a 14-day trial is offered for others. This trial obviously includes access to the Proton Mail desktop application.
