PS spokesman Pierre Jouvet accused Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday of wanting to “step over” the legislative elections, and the presidential majority of trying to make the Nupes left alliance “a scarecrow”.
In front of the candidates of the common house Together! Tuesday evening, the Head of State affirmed, according to participants, that “there is no third round of the presidential election”, referring to the idea maintained by the leader of LFI Jean- Luc Mélenchon, linchpin of the left alliance.
A statement rejected Wednesday on Radio J by Pierre Jouvet. “Emmanuel Macron remains on his path: he wanted to step over the presidential election and now he would like to step over the legislative elections. He has a major concern, which is that he does not want us to talk about politics, because he does not does not want to be put in the face of his balance sheet or his contradictions, and above all he does not want us to point out what he wants to do”, in particular “retirement at 65”, accused Pierre Jouvet.
“Where is social democracy in Emmanuel Macron”
“When I hear him say that he is a social democrat, I pinch myself, because I would like to know where is social democracy in Emmanuel Macron”, he added. Pierre Jouvet also accused the presidential majority of being “in the process of making Nupes a scarecrow by making believe that with the character Jean-Luc Mélenchon and what is behind it, it is in fact the return of an old extreme left”.
Asked whether the alliance project uniting LFI, EELV, PS and PCF was really applicable, he assured that it was “sustainable and financeable”, arguing that “we always ask the left how to finance a project ” but “never to the right or to Emmanuel Macron who nevertheless opened the coffers and made a kind of financial open bar”.
