For PS4 and PS5, you’ll regularly get free PlayStation games if you’re a PS Plus subscriber, but the subscription also lets you play online with your friends.
You actually have to pay for online gaming, but now Sony has announced a Free Online Multiplayer Weekend. From August 27th to 28th you can use the multiplayer modes of your games at no additional cost.
On that note, if you were hoping to snag the PS Plus games in August, you will now be disappointed.
You still need an active PS Plus subscription for these free games. Alternatively, you can also secure some other free games for PC, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
