PlayStation Store bestsellers are always good for a surprise. After a seven-year-old survival game, Ark: Survival Evolved, topped the charts, another PS4 classic has now claimed the throne.
God War storms the PlayStation charts
It can go that fast! Last week, Ark: Survival Evolved was the number one best seller on PlayStation Store, but now the survival game has to settle for twelfth place.
But even the new leader is now getting a bit old: Sony’s action-adventure God of War. The game is now almost four years old, but is clearly one of the most impressive games of the last generation of consoles (source: PlayStation Store).
The combat system has been completely overhauled for God of War (2018). In the trailer you can see what has changed compared to the old parts:
However, it is not clear at first glance why the PS4 hit is now celebrating a comeback in the PlayStation Store. The game is currently not reduced, and there was no free offer either. Our only explanation: Since God of War Ragnarök, the official successor, is scheduled to appear this year, it is quite possible that some players want to catch up on the first part beforehand.
What is God of War about?
After his reckoning with Olympus, Kratos tries to live a quiet life with his son Atreus in the Nordic wilderness respectively. After the death of Kratos’ wife Faye, the two set off together to scatter their ashes on the highest mountain of the Nine Realms.
However, they encounter all sorts of dangerous creatures and beings from Norse mythology, which they have to face in battle. These action passages are repeatedly interrupted by a few puzzles that have to be solved in order for them to be able to continue on their way. During their journey, Kratos and his son Atreus continue to grow together.
