The program PlayStation Playmakers will soon bear fruit. Sony Interactive Entertainment has just announced the first initiative supported by one of its ambassadors, and it is likely to make an impression: it is indeed a question ofa faceplate and a PS5 controller in limited editions in the colors of LeBron James.
The famous basketball player currently with the Los Angeles Lakers indeed collaborated with EIS to add some patterns to a PlayStation 5 faceplate with black coating. We will find some symbols reminiscent of the graffiti culture, including crowns of the Kingand its leitmotif Nothing is given, everything is earned. We can also offer a DualSense black and also motleywith the same kind of elements and mentions like Chosen One And I Promise.
“It’s always crazy to think that a kid from Akron who grew up playing video games is creating something like this. Designing a console faceplate and controller with PlayStation that gives a nod to my I Promise students and where we come from is a pretty cool thing. I hope it’s something that continues to inspire everyone who touches it, and that they have a bit of fun finding meaning in the smallest details,” says LeBron James.
Pricing has yet to be revealed, but shouldn’t be higher than those of other accessories of its kind. On the other hand, the manufacturer specifies that the products, sold directly on direct.playstation.com from 2023, will only be offered in certain regions : North America will necessarily be concerned, but there are grounds for asking questions for Europe, knowing that our PlayStation-Blog local has not communicated on it yet…
