We knew for a few weeks that sony was preparing for the arrival of a new update PS5, with an update that was being beta tested with players registered on the test program. After a few weeks of testing, this PS5 update is finally available for all owners, at the same time as a new PS4 update, while the manufacturer is already specifying the horizon of future updates.
The VRR is on its way
As we already knew, this update focuses on bringing open or closed Parties, with a better integrated voice chat or even an improved Game Base thanks to the addition of sub-menus. The PS App and PS Remote Play applications are also entitled to some improvements in passing, with an update of the interface and the addition of a dark mode.
But Sony also informs us that during the next few months, a PS5 update should arrive in order to bring support for a technology promised since the launch of the console, the Variable Refresh Rate, otherwise known as VRR.

This technology is compatible with screens and televisions equipped with HDMI 2.1 ports, and makes it possible to display a more stable framerate, with less visual pollution. We are then informed that games already released may be entitled to a patch supporting VRR, while future games will integrate this automatically. And even without a patch, it will be possible to activate this feature to gain a little more comfort. No date has yet been specified for the arrival of this support.
