PS5: another major sales milestone crossed, the stock shortage finally over?

We know it well, what is holding back PlayStation 5 sales even today, more than 2 years after its launch, is the shortage of semiconductors, which prevents Sony Interactive Entertainment to produce as many consoles as players would like to buy. He nevertheless managed to raise the bar at the end of last year, where the console sold well.

During his conference at Consumer Electronics Show 2023the manufacturer has indeed confirmed that the PS5 had reached a new sales milestone thanks to the holiday season, the month of December 2022 having thus been the most lucrative in the history of the machine. It thus passed over 30 million consoles since launch in November 2020, a figure that is all the more impressive since we only had 25 million sales at the end of last September.

The success continues for the PlayStation 5 which, despite its price increase and the number of users which increases, always sees its stocks flowing out in a few minutes when they are informed on the online sales sites. The console is currently available by invitation via Amazon.co.uk.

Update : Jim Ryan, President of Sony Interactive Entertainmentalso told the conference that the shortage of stocks was easing and thatit would be easier for gamers to order a console from now on.

Anyone who wants a PS5 should have a much easier time finding one from retailers around the world, from now on.

Will sales of the PlayStation 5 therefore explode in 2023, or will the hype will it weaken if the available copies stop being sold in a few moments?
