sony announced earlier today that the DualSense Edgethe high-end and customizable controller of the playstation5will be launched on January 26, 2023.
A controller at the price of a Switch
Announced during the Gamescom Opening Night Live last August, the DualSense Edge controller was unveiled in detail in an article on the official PlayStation blog.
While it looks a lot like the regular PS5 DualSense controller visually, it offers a much more personalized experience: you can redefine buttonsfine tune the sensitivity of the stick and the triggersand switch from one control profile to another. This all comes on top of the core DualSense features like haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.
“You can customize the DualSense Edge controller to your liking with the included three sets of interchangeable joystick caps and two sets of rear keycaps, also interchangeable. All of these will be included in the carrying case.”
Here’s what you’ll find in the carry case:
- DualSense Edge Wireless Controller
- Braided USB cable
- 2 standard caps
- 2 high rounded caps
- 2 low rounded caps
- 2 semi-rounded rear keys
- 2 rear paddles
You will be able to charge your controller via USB connection while it is stored in its case.
Pre-orders open soon
The DualSense Edge will be available for pre-order in the US and Western Europe (UK, France, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands) on the PlayStation website starting next Tuesday, October 25, 2022.
Besides pre-orders, the DualSense Edge should be available on the PlayStation direct site on January 26, 2023. If you want to get it from others classic dealershowever, these will start selling the new controller February 23, 2023according to Sony.
The DualSense Edge Wireless Controller will be available for $239.99.
