Game news PS5: the next State of Play is dedicated to FF7 Rebirth and will take place with only a few players!
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is undoubtedly one of the biggest stars of the start of 2024 and to highlight it as it should, Sony and Square Enix have decided to give it an entire broadcast, the date of which comes from elsewhere to be communicated.
A State of Play just for Cloud
Last night, Sony held a particularly anticipated State of Play. We saw a nice program there with Death Stranding 2 (whose full name has been made official), a new title from the Metro saga, a new trailer for the exclusive Rise of the Ronin, surprises linked to Silent Hill or even the comeback of Judas , next game from the creator of Bioshock.
And yet, despite this five-star cast, Final Fantasy fans certainly couldn’t help but be somewhat disappointed: we very clearly expected that FF7 Rebirth takes a prominent place in the show… but that was not the case. Instead, at the very end of the show, Shawne Benson (the director of portfolio and global relations with third-party publishers at PlayStation) showed up to drop some completely different news: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will fully show itself in its own State of Play.
Rest assured, you won’t have to wait for ages since this is scheduled for February 6, 2024, i.e. next Tuesday (the same day as the new batch of “free” PS Plus games, by the way).

The appointment is made
So, what to expect from this State of Play specially designed for FF7? An in-depth look at the PS5 exclusive with new gameplay details, but also the promise of several surprises. Obviously, many expect a playable demo on PlayStation 5 (why not released the same day as is often customary), but the mystery remains.
We recall that Square Enix plans to remake the legendary Final Fantasy VII into a gigantic remake of three video games : a trilogy which began with Final Fantasy VII Remake in 2020 and which was particularly successful, granting itself this precious record within Square Enix. The second part is Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and focuses on the journey of Cloud and his friends outside of Midgarwith a lot of grandiose areas to discover like Dolgen Saucer, Kalm or the temple of the ancients.
After that, therefore, we will be entitled to a third title which will adapt the end of FF7 from 1997, but suffice to say that we still have time to see it coming. At any rate, keep in mind the date of February 29, 2024 since it is on this day that the software in question today will be released, exclusively on PS5.
