PS5 is stocking up on headsets and displays, and they’re showing promise


Sony Electronics has finally unveiled Inzone, its new brand of headsets and screens dedicated to video games. A range which had unfortunately ended up on the Web before its time and which is aimed primarily at PC players. Speaking of the Japanese publisher, the new products are also optimized for consoles and on the PS5.

As promised, Sony has lifted the veil on its new range of gamer accessories: Inzone. No PS5 Pro controller on the program, but a whole bunch of new helmets and screens certified and compatible with the next-gen console. The opportunity for the PS5 to stock up on accessories.

On the screen side, the Inzone M9 will catch the eye of those looking for graphics performance. On the program, a 27-inch IPS panel with 4K definition, HDR 600 and a refresh rate of 144 Hz, 1 ms input lag, high contrast, local backlight management (Local Dimming) over the entire surface and highlights. The screen cut for the PS5 like the PC is compatible with VRR and Nvidia G-Sync. The Inzone M9 will be available this summer for €1099.

For its part, the Inzone M3 will be aimed primarily at FPS players. The 27-inch Full HD (1080p) screen will also offer a 240 Hz refresh rate with a 1 ms gray-to-gray response time and the same compatibility as the 4K model. It will also have DisplayHDR 400 certification, 99% coverage of the sRGB color space, and support for 1.07 billion colors.

Perfect monitors for the PS5

Enough to offer a rich color experience. No release date or price has been communicated for this monitor. Both screens will come with several gaming-specific features, including an FPS display mode, where brightness and contrast are optimized to better identify opponents. The INZONE M9 and INZONE M3 monitors offer automatic HDR calibration with PlayStation5 consoles to automatically recognize the screen and optimize HDR settings during installation. Additionally, the monitors will automatically switch to Cinema mode when streaming movies from the PS5, and to Game mode when launching a game.

Three new 3D helmets

No big surprise on the helmet side, the insider Tom Henderson having already spilled the beans on their specs, but we finally have their prices. The Inzone H9, the top-of-the-range model will be sold for 300€. At this price, the PS5, PC and Xbox Series Wireless Headset will offer noise reduction, 360° spatial sound. for gaming and advanced technologies optimizing acoustics. “An Ambient Sound mode will also be in order. The manufacturer promises a lifespan of 32 hours and a fast charge in 10 minutes offering up to 1 hour of play time. The Inzone H7, also wireless, will offer 360° Spatial Sound with a lifespan of 10 hours , and fast charging similar to the H9. It will be marketed at 230€.

Both models feature on-screen guidance so you can quickly change headset settings and see the PS5 Control Center. A game and voice balance button will change the balance between voice chat and game audio in a flash. Both use Tempest 3D AudioTech technology for a better spatial feeling. As for the Inzone H3, it is presented as a wired headset with also precise target detection with 360° Spatial Sound. The entry-level model will be sold for 100€. All three models will be available at an undetermined date in July.
