Playstation won’t have to rely on Kojima Productions to be part of its in-house studio family. The Big Boss cracked a sharp-edged tweet with the hallway noises circulating yesterday about a possible takeover of his studio, which has been working on a new project for many months already.
Hideo Kojima denies
Even if the new banner of Playstation Studios could seem misleading, it is simply a small communication blunder: Hideo Kojima himself specified on his Twitter account, that even if he was going to continue to work alongside Sony , Kojima Productions would remain an independent studio. What lit the fuse was the presence of Death Stranding’s Sam Porter Bridges on the studio banner on the far left of the image. The game was a huge exclusive to Playstation machines on the end of the previous generation, but that doesn’t mean that the Metal gear dad’s next productions will be exclusive to PS4 and PS5 consoles.

That’s for sure, Sony Playstation will continue to buy studios in order to build up an ever larger catalog of home licenses and able to compete with that of the ogre Microsoft.
