Unfortunately, it’s no secret, Sony players are indeed struggling more than ever to get a PS5, and the same goes for Xbox players with the Xbox Series X. If the reason for this is due to a shortage of a certain component, it doesn’t seem to be of much concern to manufacturers, at least for now, if we are to believe the latest job offer published on the web.
According to an AMD releasethe American manufacturer of microprocessors, Sony, Microsoft and said company would indeed already be working on the next generation of consoles.
Next-gen consoles soon in our living rooms?
It’s out of sight that the company AMD released a new job offer on the professional network LinkedInjob offer that sows trouble and which can also make you smile in view of the current situation.
According to the latter, we understand that the company is currently working on the development of the next generation of chip, generation of chip which will therefore be integrated into the next consoles, as well Sony’s PlayStation 6 than the next Xbox.
Through these words, doubt is not really allowed and we understand not without difficulty that the manufacturers PlayStation and Xbox are therefore indeed working on next gen machines. However, with the current difficulty in sourcing certain components for the PS5 and Xbox Series, isn’t this a decision a little too premature?
Sony wants to aim higher
From Sony’s latest financial statement, we might think that the company’s main goal is to sell as many PS5s as possible. The latest figures published are indeed below the firm’s expectations, with, as of March 31, 2022, a total of 19.3 million consoles sold.which is still a very good figure, but still below the estimates made in April 2021.
Thus, we can therefore ask ourselves, with the job offer freshly published by AMD, if it is perhaps not too early. Only time will tell, but one thing is certain, we will have to be very patient before we have any information on the next PlayStation or the next Xbox.
Nevertheless, about Xbox, the manufacturer is apparently on another project which is to offer a connected key allowing owners of a Samsung smart TV to take advantage of the Xbox Games Pass catalog. Case to follow!
