Sony has announced the PS5 Pro with video material. Business insiders have examined these. This is what Alan Wake 2, Assassin’s Creed Shadows and more could look like on the console.
- Sony didn’t give any values for games on the PS5 Pro, but showed videos.
- Digital Foundry is said to have evaluated the enhanced material.
- You may only be able to play some games at 864p resolution at 60 FPS.
Sony has announced the PS5 Pro, but fans are still speculating about the exact details of the console. Digital Foundry has already made assumptions about how GTA 6 will be displayed on the PS5 Pro.
Even if Sony hardly gave any precise information about 4K, 60 FPS and ray tracing when announcing the console, there is at least enhanced material and Digital Foundry is said to have spotted it, as user Jmaine518 writes on X (formerly Twitter). His listing is said to be based on the Digital Foundry Podcast, which you can only listen to as a supporter.
According to the business insiders’ evaluation, Alan Wake 2 will be available in two modes, where, like the normal PS5, you can choose between 60 FPS and 30 FPS. If you want to play at a high frame rate, Alan Wake 2 is only available at 864p. If you want to play at 1260p, then only 30 FPS is possible. In addition, ray tracing is apparently only available in 30 FPS mode.
Something similar should also apply to Assassin’s Creed Shadows. The upcoming title from Ubisoft looks to have a resolution of 864p and 60 FPS.
The PS5 Pro provides better ray tracing reflections at Hogwarts Legacy, but only 30 FPS can be seen in the Sony material. However, Digital Foundry suspects that, like the standard PS5, there will also be a mode for 60 FPS.
The Last of Part 2 can apparently be played at 1440p resolution with 60 FPS, but PSSR ensures better image quality, while the excerpt for Horizon Forbidden West doesn’t look like 4K.

With Gran Turismo 7 you should have the choice between 1,188p resolution with ray tracing and PSSR, native 4K without ray tracing or 8K.
A leaker has already suggested that there is an 8K option for the PS5 Pro. A game developer has explained what values the new console achieves compared to the PS5.
