PS5: Sony unveils a controller to enjoy your games anywhere!

If there’s one thing PlayStation gamers envy those on Switch, it’s being able to play their favorite games remotely. Being able to sit on your balcony in summer while playing Horizon Forbidden West sounds ideal, doesn’t it?

For this exists remote play, allowing to transfer audio and image from PlayStation to another device. However, the experience provided by this system is not optimal, because small screen gameplay requires a suitable controller. And that’s good, Sony has just unveiled one!

Backbone x Sony, done!

It’s a good partnership! Sony just teamed up with Backbonea company specializing in the creation of transportable controllers, in order to create the Backbone One PlayStation Edition.

Its white design is immediately reminiscent of that of Sony’s next-gen console and therefore allows players to use remote play on their phone, inserted into the controller. For now, the Playstation Edition is available for iPhone (Apple) owners only. Players with an Android smartphone can turn to the classic edition, in black color.

Although it was designed to facilitate remote play, Sony reminds that its use is not limited to this featureand that it is also possible to play other games there, to use discord, but also to launch other applications visible in the menu.

A controversial design

While these features seem to complete the remote experience for PlayStation gamers, its design has been worked towards the same goal. However, it is not unanimous. In question, its asymmetrical joystickswhich according to some could disorient players from their usual PS5 controller.

A design however common to remote controllers, such as the Razer Kishi V2 or even the Nacon MG-X Pro. Those accustomed to this type of device will therefore not be too disturbed by these joysticks which are debated.

In addition, users of the Backbone One seem very satisfied with their purchases, and the feedback observed is on the whole very positive. Its practicality seems to appeal, and we suspect that the trend has only just begun.

The Backbone One PlayStation Edition is available on the Backbone website at the price of 99.99€and comes with 3 months free access to Discord Nitro, 1 month to Apple Arcade and 2 months to Google Stadia Pro. What to do on the beaches this summer!
