PS5: Sony wants to hit hard with its PSVR 2!

Good news for those who would like to invest in the next PlayStation VR headset but who are still hesitant. The manufacturer has just unveiled some new modifications and additions to the PSVR2 with a transparent view as well as a broadcast option.

The PSVR2 reveals itself more

When it comes to the comfort of its users, Sony does not hesitate to use drastic measures, and the developers give everything when it comes to the PSVR2. According to the new publication available on the official PlayStation blog, the PSVR2, although quite similar to the first model, will still have several new features, starting with a so-called transparent view.

On the current model, when the owners of the device are in the menu of the latter, they do not have the possibility of seeing what is happening around them because of the home screen. As a result, for the new version, the PSVR2 will offer a transparent view, allowing you to see the environment in which the players find themselves, with the possibility, for example, of easily finding the PSVR2 Sense controllers. No need to remove the helmet, just turn your head to look around. This system is possible thanks to the installation of two front cameras which will be directly integrated into the helmet. Although this option will be very practical, the manufacturer has nevertheless indicated that it will not be possible to make recordings with it.

Moreover, in addition to this new transparent view, the PSVR2 will also benefit from a broadcasting option, good news for those who would like to start streaming. This feature will allow broadcasters to film themselves while playing, by connecting a PS5 HD camera to the console.

In the post, Sony also announces other small novelties and modifications with a personalized play area, all possible thanks to the integrated controllers and cameras. The latter will allow you to analyze a room, while the PS VR2 Sense controllers will allow you to expand and further customize the play area to adapt the style of play to the environment.

During a game, if you get close to the limit you have set for your play space, you will receive a warning. You can change your settings anytime while PS VR2 is connected. Once your game space is set up, the settings are saved. However, they will be lost if you change game space.

Finally, regarding VR mode and cinematic modePlayStation announces that players will be able to enjoy a virtual 360° environment with content that will be displayed in 4000 x 2040 HDR (2000 x 2040 per eye) video format with a frame rate of 90Hz/120Hz. For cinematic mode, the video format will be 1920×1080 HDR with frame rates of 24/60Hz, and even 120Hz.

So, convinced by all these new features and modifications? Anyway, you’re going to have to wait a little longer since we still don’t have a release date for PSVR2. We can’t say it enough, but patience is a virtue!
