It’s official, the VRR will land on PlayStation 5 this week! In a post, the PlayStation teams announced the big news, but also a list of games that will benefit from a patch to accommodate Sony’s new feature. Let’s go back to this announcement, and to the details of the VRR.
What is VRR?
This is the variable refresh rate support on PlayStation 5. The new feature of course brings more fluidity in video gamesincreasing the visual performance of the PS5. How ? Simply by eliminating the “visual artifacts”, such as frame rate or screen tearing issues. By synchronizing the refresh rate of the display, the VRR therefore allows players to fully immerse themselves in their gaming experience, without being disturbed by jerky images, or completely buggy horizon loadings.
It will be available for all games on Sony’s latest console, although its effectiveness on some will depend on the TV or graphics setting of the output device. It is also important to specify that this option works on compatible screens and televisions HDMI 2.1 and VRR.
