Earlier this month, a Taiwanese ratings registry for next-gen consoles mentioned What Remains of Edith Finch, a game released in 2017 on Xbox One, PS4, PC, Switch, and iOS. Several commentators had then anticipated an upgrade of the Giant Sparrow game, which could be released shortly on next gen consoles. Bingo! What Remains of Edith Finch is now available on PS5 and Xbox series! Obviously, this next gen version of the game comes with some graphical improvements, since it will run in 4K FPS on the most recent machines.
Free upgrade
Good news for all those who already own What Remains of Edith Finch on PS4 or Xbox One: the upgrade of the title to the new generation of consoles will be free! It was relatively expected for once, but as much to remember!
A real nugget of narrative
What Remains of Edith Finch is the work of Annapurna and California-based independent studio Giant Sparrow. And when it was released, it impressed greatly with the quality of its storytelling, as well as for its dark, very disturbing aspect. The title won the BAFTA award for Best Game 2018, as well as Best GDCA Story 2018.
It takes the form of several first-person stories about the Finch family. The game is particularly known for reviving (in the first person always) the death of certain family members, even children. Rest assured, however, the game is not unsustainable for all that. Even if it is dark, it is more poetic than disturbing.
