PSG confirm Messi vs Ronaldo
Perhaps the last duel of the football giants

A direct duel between the two superstars was more than two years ago: now Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo will face each other again on the soccer field. The reason for this is a trip from Paris St. Germain to Qatar and Saudi Arabia – the new home of CR7.

The course has been set for what may be the last meeting between football giants Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. As confirmed by Messi’s club Paris St. Germain, the French champions travel to Qatar and Saudi Arabia on January 18 and 19. In Saudi Arabia, PSG is playing a friendly (19th) against a selection from top Saudi clubs Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr – the latter is Ronaldo’s new sporting home.

It would be Ronaldo’s debut in Saudi Arabia. After arriving at Al-Nassr, the 37-year-old missed the first league game pending a suspension from the English FA. After successfully registering in the Pro League, Ronaldo has to sit out again before he can wear the new colors for the first time in a competitive game against Al-Ettifaq on January 22nd.

In order to make room for Ronaldo, according to AFP information, Al-Nassr has canceled the contract with Cameroon’s World Cup participant Vincent Aboubakar, as only eight foreign players are allowed. In the Gulf region, Ronaldo and Messi are the absolute favorite players of the residents. At the World Cup in Qatar, veritable jubilation erupted.

The last duel between the two superstars Messi and Ronaldo was the 3-0 win of Ronaldo’s former club Juventus Turin in the Champions League group phase over Messi’s FC Barcelona on December 8, 2020. There have been a total of 36 official duels between the superstars so far: Messi won 16, Ronaldo won eleven duels with nine draws.
