PUBG deploys update 16.2 on console and announces its 2022 roadmap

The now free Battle Royale PUBG has just launched its new version 16.2 on all platforms, introducing in particular a new Tactical Equipment, a new Survivor Pass, map rotations in Normal Games and balancing. Available on PC since March 16, you can now download it on console.

On the side of the new tactical equipment, you will find a tactical bag that takes up your primary weapon slot. You store almost any type of object there, with some limitations that you will find on the patchnote. It comes with the spotter scope, which allows mid-range recce. The update also changes drone LED colors, fixes some bugs, and adjusts map rotation. Sanhok will be replaced by Haven for Normal Games.

  • Normal Parts

    • Erangel/Miramar/Taego/Karakin/Haven

  • Ranked Games

Here is the detail of Survivor Pass – Punk Wave:

The next Survivor Pass: Punk Wave is finally here (with a better UI too)! Play as the most punk star in Battlegrounds by completing missions and collecting rewards. We’ve also made some balancing adjustments as well as general UI/UX improvements for a better Survivor Pass experience:

  • In order to differentiate Weapon Mastery/Survivor XP from Survivor Pass XP, Survivor Pass XP will now be called XP pass.
  • Maximum playtime per day to get Pass XP: 6 hours → 8 hours
  • Maximum Pass XP obtainable per day: 7200 Pass XP → 9600 Pass XP

    • This does not affect Pass XP rewards obtained from missions.

All the content of this patch 16.2 can be found on the blog post or in the video below. Note that occasionally 5th anniversary of the gameplayers can now obtain various decorations across Erangel and Taego in Normal Games, along with a special PUBG 5th Anniversary BGM in the main lobby.

At last, PUBG has unveiled its plans for 2022 in a developer post that lists what’s coming until the last quarter of the year. A new map, kiki will be deployed in particular in the 3rd quarter. An 8×8 map with high buildings and swept by climatic disasters. This will be an opportunity to also discover amphibian vehicles.

At the end of the year, a remake of the Vikendi map will also be put online with several arcade mode changes. For more information, you can click on this link.
